Good Governance 2012

GOOD GOVERNANCE 2012 will provide local government elected members in the Northern Territory with an invaluable opportunity to build on the skills and knowledge needed to be an effective elected member. The event will take place at the Darwin Convention Centre, Darwin Waterfront on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th May 2012.

The six themes below will be presented at the conference in two streams. The FUNDAMENTALS for newly elected and less experienced members and UPSKILL for experienced and re-elected members.

Good Governance 2012 will provide elected members an exciting opportunities to meet colleagues from around the Northern Territory, share stories and ideas and help strengthen local government.

Newly elected members will benefit from the FUNDAMENTALS workshops and re-elected and experienced members will gain from the UPSKILL forums.

GOOD GOVERNANCE 2012 will provide training, ideas and inspiration to elected members with a mixture of open forums, presentations and discussions designed to facilitate an understanding and appreciation of the skills and knowledge needed to be an effective elected member.

The program will allow delegates to choose topics of interest and at a level that is relevant to their understanding.

 

FUNDAMENTALS (Brush up on the basics)

For the new and less experienced elected members the FUNDAMENTALS options will provide the basic building blocks necessary to being a council member.

UPSKILL (For the more experienced)

For those with knowledge and experience, the UPSKILL forums are designed to further enhance understanding. The interactive approach will enable participants a chance to explore issues of relevance.
